The About The Federal Ministry of Works: The Federal Ministry of Works is charged with several statutory responsibilities among which are: Federal Highways (Planning & Design, Construction & Rehabilitation) ; Supervision of the monitoring and maintenance of Federal roads nationwide; provision of Engineering infrastructure; and surveying and mapping of the countrys internal and international boundaries. Structurally, the Ministry has undergone some changes aimed at ensuring the effective discharge of its mandate. It is presently structured into four Operational Departments namely: Highways, Planning and Design; Highways, Construction and Rehabilitation; Engineering Services and Federal Surveys. There are also three Common / Service Departments namely: Administration and Supplies; Planning, Research and Statistics and Finance and Accounts. There are three Units of Legal, Internal Audit and Press and Public Relations. The Ministry also supervises the activities of the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA) ; Federal School of Surveys, Oyo; and Regional Center for Training in Aerospace Surveys (RECTAS) , Ile-Ife. In addition, the Ministry operates through its Field Headquarters located in the 36 States of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) , Abuja.
